Jessica found her love for baking in ninth grade, thanks to a home economics teacher who taught cake decorating. She went to college in Pennsylvania for pastry arts, graduated with honors, and spent years working in bakeries on the East Coast before starting a family.

When she and her husband moved to New Mexico in May 2020, the itch came back. By 2023, she had her licenses and was ready to go full-time. She applied to the Albuquerque Rail Yards Market, got selected, and started slow — once a month. Now Divine Delights is there every Sunday.

The menu is all from scratch. Brioche cinnamon rolls in flavors like maple bacon and blueberry cobbler. German pretzels — 500 to 700 a week — that she also makes wholesale for Benny’s Sausage Company. Focaccia, pies, Japanese milk bread sandwiches. Her secret weapon is Kat from Popped Candy, who dehydrates local blueberries and grinds them into powder so Jessica can whip it into butter for a roll that’s packed with flavor but never soggy.

Jessica grew up in northeast Ohio, lived across the East Coast — Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware — and found her roots in Albuquerque. She also vends at the Los Alamos Friday night concert series and is one of the few food vendors selected for the Fourth of July Spectacular in White Rock.

“I found my passion and my love for baking in ninth grade. I went to college for pastry arts, graduated with honors, and I just fell in love with it.”
